Match Report
St James Senior Boys' School Boys-U13B vs  King's College School (KCS), Wimbledon
On: Thursday, 23 May 2019
Venue: Away

Year 8 have shown massive potential over the last 18 months which has prompted us to find some competitive fixtures for those not in the A group and this team did not disappoint.

The Saints batted first and got off to a great start putting on a high run rate in the first few overs.

A couple of silly mistakes allowed the Kings College bowlers to apply some pressure but our boys responded well, steadying the ship and finishing well with a score of 96.

The bowling and the fielding were quite simply magnificent. Only three wides and two no balls in the entire game made the batsmen really have to earn their runs and a couple of early wickets kept St James in the hunt.

Unfortunately, a couple of untimely dropped catches were the difference between the two teams with Kings College catching the Saints total with just 12 balls to spare.

This was a cracking performance by an inexperienced St James team and we can expect good things from these players moving forward.
