Match Report
St James Senior Boys' School Boys-U13A vs  Shrewsbury House School
On: Monday, 29 Apr 2019
Venue: at Home

This was a very tough opening fixture for our U13 squad. Adam Smith won the toss and decided to bowl. We managed to keep Shrewsbury House to 4 an over for the first 6 or 7 overs with Adam having an open spell of 3 overs for one wicket, a gloved catch to Woody Lee at wicket keeper, conceding only 5 runs. James Axiom took over where Adam left off and with the help of an outstanding catch by Tomas Carroll-Orea took the next wicket. James then, himself, took an excellent reaction catch off Hamza Kashif . Shrewsbury House continued to score runs on a regular basis and amassed 161 for 4.

St James could not have had a worse start. Both Adam and Tomas were bowled first ball and Woody was run out. The team then showed some fight and through James Axiom (18) and Hamza Kashif (15) we got back in the game. There was always a sense that we were always going to be behind the asking rate but a very aggressive 44 by George Fletcher kept our hopes alive. We fell short, but this may well be our most difficult fixture and the team gave a good account of themselves. Congratulations to Adan on his school debut.
