Match Report
St James Senior Boys' School Boys-U14A vs  Fulham Boys School
On: Monday, 19 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

Having come through the test of Cardinal Wiseman in the previous round with relative ease St James found a tough test in the form of Fulham Boys school. The U14's arrived and quickly got stuck into a very athletic and spirited Fulham boys side. St James score through a well worked set of phases with Freddie Middleton scoring and Sebastian Evans converting. This was followed up by another score, leaving the score at 12-0. Fulham Boys then picked up the pace and score three unanswered tries through a very quick and agile young man. St James picked up the pace again and came back through Gunkirit Chanana with Seb Evans converting. Sadly Fulham boys managed to score again and at half time the score was 24-19. The game remained close for the majority of the second half and St James fought hard to get over the try line getting very close a number of times but not managing it. With 5 minutes left in the game Teddy Desmond got over the line and Sebastian Evans converted to take the lead. St James just needed to hold out long enough to take the win. St James had a scrum on the half way after the kick off failed to go 10 metres. Sadly St James lost the scrum and Fulham's best runner got the ball and scored, 29-26. With 2minutes left St James had the chance to at least draw the scores level. Sadly once again the U14s weren't able to control the Fulham backline and they broke free to score and make the Final score 36 - 26. A good effort and gutsy performance from a team that has developed a lot this year, I look forward to seeing what they can produce in years to come.
