Match Report
St James Senior Boys' School 1st XV vs  Burnham Grammar School
On: Monday, 19 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

They say that true character can only be uncovered when a person is under pressure and this was certainly the case for the 1st XV on Monday night and they showed just what a class act they are.

Due to the oppositions other commitments we were forced to play on Monday night and during the year 11 mocks, depleting the squad considerably. At kick off the team only had 13 players but this did not deter the and they quickly took a 2 score lead. A 14th player arrived and added a little more fire to the close game and 20 minutes in we made it a full compliment of 15, all keen to play a fast, free flowing game of rugby, well suited to the artificial pitch at London Irish's training ground.

Burnham were never quite out of the game but the Saints always kept them 20 points at bay in a high scoring encounter.

This was an excellent performance by a group who showed a real pride in their school and a love of representing the Saints.
