Match Report
St James Senior Boys' School Boys-U12B vs  Radnor House Twickenham
On: Tuesday, 16 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

A strong U12 B team was fielded against Radnor House on Tuesday afternoon which is a reflection of the strength of this year group across all sports.

the game started positively for St James with the Saints holding onto possession for long periods of time and putting the home team under pressure. Mid-way through the first half the pressure finally told with Captain Isaac Gill finishing a great team move to make the score 1-0.

This raised the teams confidence and they started to share the ball and push up the pitch, flooding the Radnor half with players. Unfortunately, this left the Saints exposed at the back and Radnor took advantage of this, clearing the ball from their penalty area over the St James defence for their speedy striker to connect with and score. 1-1.

St James were not to be discouraged. they fixed the problem, allowing them to cover any Radnor counter-attacks whilst maintaining their attacking pressure, which again broke down the home defence to bring the score to 2-1 at half time with Louis Charlton finding the net.

The message was clear at half time, keep up the intensity but use more space to spread the defence out and this was done with some success allowing Will Spicer to charge forward from the back. A well taken goal from Luca Simpson took the score to 3-1 and despite Radnor grabbing one back, the result was never in doubt and was confirmed with Gill making the score 4-2.

A great team performance played in a brilliant spirit by both teams.
